Virgin Media Television is committed to exploring new platforms for media distribution and interactivity, and has built a considerable reputation for innovation in this area.
Over the last ten years we have pioneered red button interactive TV, run all forms of live viewer interaction, launched the country’s first user-generated content channel - Trouble Homegrown, and set up mobile TV channels for LIVING and Bravo. The LIVING website www.livingtv.co.uk is amongst the most popular UK sites among the UK’s female 16-34s, and will benefit from a massive re-launch and significant investment during 2008.
Working alongside the Virgin Media cable platform, we have also been at the forefront of video-on-demand services in the UK, and we are now increasingly focused on producing broadband content, having established a Video Production Unit in 2007 as a centre of excellence for original and edited short-form video content.
The merger of the cable networks and Virgin Mobile in 2006 and rebrand in 2007 has made Virgin Media the undisputed "quadruple play" leader, presenting Virgin Media Television with exciting new opportunities for a unified and 360° cross-platform approach to commissioning and promotion of programmes, channels and brands.
